Modern motor oils are high-alloy lubricants of complex, carefully designed and well-balanced. The basis of all motor and transmission oils are mineral, semi-synthetic and synthetic base oils (MFOil oils use the Royal Dutch Shell base oil, the largest refinery in the Netherlands) in which special additives have been introduced to provide certain functional properties of the finished product or/and improving the properties of the base oil. The total consistance of additives in oils, as a rule, is 12 - 15%. The right selection of the engine oil, for special machinery, is directly related to the type of engine and the operating conditions of the machine. The properties of engine oil is affected by the specific power per engine displacement, the engine speed, the presence or absence of turbo, the temperature limits of the engine parts, the amount of oil being poured, etc., and much attention is paid to the climatic conditions of operation of the machinery. You should use two main classifications of motor oils for these purposes:- Viscosity-temperature properties, predetermining the range of ambient temperature in which oil can be used. On the level of performance properties and the field of application of oils corresponding to the degree of rigidity of operating conditions and the type of engine in which the oil will perform its functions for a long time.
